Under the sunlight, the forest's edge appears inviting enough. But within a few steps of the outer rim, a shroud of darkness settles upon anyone who enters – like a heavy mist weighing down on one's shoulders. Many have delved in, but few have returned. Those who have survived the dark wood tell tales of strange sounds and indiscernible sights. Experienced adventurers have measured the forest depth to be nothing more than a peninsula of trees reaching out of the Great Northern Wood. Yet it takes many days, even many weeks to cross to the other side. Surely the magic of the Woods of Mystery hide its secrets and fabled treasures. But until they are unveiled, it is best to stay out, lest you never return.
